Crouch End - Dunn's Bakery

Dunn's Bakery in Crouch End is a family run business making a wide range of traditional breads and cakes. The owner, Chris Freeman, is a 5th generation baker (the family have been bakers since 1827).
The bakery was featured in the first series of ITV's Britain's Best Bakery (where the standards were exceptionally high). You may also  have seen Chris, with his son Lewis, on BBC's Victorian Bakers earlier this year.
Their wide bread range includes traditional white crusty and tin breads, seeded plaits, baguettes (made with French flour), spelt and honey bread, yeast-free Scofa Scottish soda bread and Irish wheaten bread (with buttermilk and wheaten oat).

I bought a GI loaf which had a nice crust, helps you to control your blood sugars and keeps you fuller for longer.

There's also a wide range of cakes like Chelsea buns and doughnuts:
We would especially recommend their Florentine's - and they also do celebration cakes.
