Twickenham Farmers' Market

Twickenham is one of the first Farmers' Markets to take place in London, and it's one of my favourites.

It's situated in a leafy car park on Holly Road:
If you find Mark and Spencer on Heath Road, and walk through their store, you'll find it at the back.

Lee House Farm had a sign boasting that they were the customers' favourite store:
They sell organic beef, lamb and pork, and also eggs and vegetables from their farm, which is on the borders of West Sussex and Surrey.

Also organic are Chegworth Valley, who sell fruit vegetables and salads:
and award-winning farm apple and fruit juices pressed on their farm in Kent.

There was some nice asparagus for sale:
Another popular stall was March House Farm:
who were selling their new season's lamb,
and dry cured Gloucester Old Spot ham.

Alham Wood Cheeses were selling hand made organic buffalo cheeses:
They also sell sell raw cows and raw buffalo milk as well as their unique cow and buffalo yoghurts in glass jars.

Gary Haggis was selling fish caught in his small day boat off the coast of Walton, Essex

For something different, there's Nonna's Pasta:
Jonathan Aloia makes hand-made Italian cuisine, in Richmond, using his grandmother's recipes.

Londoner's may be surprised to learn that Boarstall Meats farm at Muswell Hill
but this Muswell Hill is in Aylesbury Vale, near Brill (and definitely not Haringey)!

I love this nursery rhyme;
At Brill on the hill
The wind blows shrill,
The cook no meat can dress…
which I found here

There was more fresh fruit and veg here:
Exeter Street Bakery sell Italian style breads
The Tomato Stall had a colourful display of Isle of Wight tomatoes:
and the Celtic Bakers:
had a wide range of organic breads including soda bread and sourdough:
I've left one of my favourites to the end of this post.  The Bath Soft Cheese Company sell delicious soft cheese, (without the aid of feathers - see their web site) on their farm at Kelston, near Bath.  they make a Bath Soft, and a Wyfe of Bath cheese, and my favourite was their Bath Blue.
Twickenham Farmers' Market takes place every Saturday, and is well worth a visit.
